From dancing in front of the TV to belly dancing in Hengelo
With a Dutch father and a Persian mother, Honey was exposed to different cultures at a young age She was born on June 14, 1997 in Almelo, and spent her free time watching Bollywood films, but her love for different types of music was already ingrained due to her multicultural background. So it’s no surprise that she expressed herself through dance from a young age. As a little girl, she copied her mother’s belly dance moves in front of the TV, but soon decided to take it more seriously. Zo oefende ze al op jonge leeftijd haar grootste passie uit via verschillende danslessen door heel Nederland en via online met bekende buitenlandse dansers.
A dream come true: Honey's own dance school
Honey tried out almost every dance style there is, such as hip-hop, popping, jazz ballet, and modern, but her love for belly dancing ultimately prevailed. Her Persian mother once made it to dance competitions and Iranian music videos, but Honey had only one goal: to open her own dance school. This drive ultimately led her to start taking belly dance lessons throughout the Netherlands at the age of seventeen. Uiteindelijk maakte ze de overstap naar de dansschool in Heerlen ging om haar certificaat voor buikdansen te halen, maar dat was niet genoeg. Honey wou nog meer leren. Zo begon ze met het volgen van online en live prive danslessen van bekende bellydancers. Van deze bekende sterren volgde en volgt Honey lessen: Mahdy Emara van Amsterdam, Loretta uit Koeweit, Melissa van London, Aleksandra en Irina Shevchenko (Daliya) van Rusland, Medhavi Mishra van India, Alex Delora van Ukraine, Gabriella van Oostenrijk. Workshop in Amsterdam van Sadie van USA. En niet te vergeten van Diva Darina niet alleen online prive lessen gevolgd maar ook Certificaten behaald in haar dansschool, en nog steeds een member van haar (Be a Diva) school. Haar passie voor dans is niet te stoppen. Te boeken op bruiloften en feesten was ze al, maar de danslessen smaakte naar meer. And with success, as her dream of opening her own dance school became a reality. Belly dancing in Hengelo is now a reality and you can learn the tricks of the trade from Honey.
